Who we are
BuildCount is a service of Charcounting CPA, PLLC ("Charcounting", "we", "us"), a CPA firm. This policy covers buildcountusa.com and the addresses that redirect to it. Our mailing address is 3701 Arco Corporate Dr, Suite 300, Charlotte, NC 28273.
What we collect
- The Get started form. Your first and last name, email, phone number, type of construction, and anything optional you add: business name, entity type, notes, the price summary from the pricing page, and whether you agree to text messages.
- Ask BuildCount, our AI assistant. The questions you type and the replies (see the AI assistant below).
- Booking a call. Calls are booked through Cal.com, which collects the details its booking page asks for under its own privacy policy.
- Technical information. Our hosting provider records standard details of each visit, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time, so it can deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
What we do not collect
This site does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. The pricing steps, the revenue slider and the over and under billing tool work inside your browser, and nothing you enter in them is sent to us. If you choose to carry your price over to the Get started form, your answers travel in the page address, so they appear in our hosting provider's records of that visit.
Because this site does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers, we do not track you over time or across other websites, and we do not let other companies do so through this site. The site works the same way whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track signal.
Your browser remembers two things on your own device: whether you chose the light or dark look, and your conversation with the assistant until you close the tab.
How we use your information
- To answer your enquiry, prepare a quote and set up a call.
- To send the text messages you agreed to, such as appointment confirmations and reminders.
- To provide our services if you become a client.
- To follow up about our services where you have agreed to it or the law allows it. You can opt out at any time.
- To keep the site secure, prevent spam and abuse, and meet our legal, tax and professional obligations.
The AI assistant
Ask BuildCount is an AI assistant. When you send it a message, your message and the recent conversation go from our server to OpenAI, which writes the reply. We do not keep a record of your conversation on our servers; we log only technical details such as timings. OpenAI handles these requests under its policies for business API customers, which do not use them to train its models by default and allow it to keep them for a limited time to detect abuse.
Messages that look like a Social Security, bank routing or card number are blocked before they leave your browser. Please do not share sensitive or confidential information with the assistant. Its answers are general information and can be wrong; they are not tax, accounting or legal advice.
Text messages
If you tick the box on the Get started form, we may text you about your enquiry and appointments. Texts come from Charcounting CPA, PLLC. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time or HELP for help. Agreeing to texts is not a condition of any purchase.
We do not sell, rent or share your mobile phone number or your text message consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing. We share them only with the service providers that deliver our messages.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information. We share it only:
- With service providers that help us run the site and respond to you, and only so they can do that work: Vercel (hosting), HighLevel (our customer relationship and messaging system), OpenAI (the AI assistant) and Cal.com (booking).
- When the law, a court, a regulator or our professional standards require it, or to protect our rights, our clients or others.
- As part of a merger, acquisition or sale of our business, subject to confidentiality protections.
- With your consent or at your direction.
None of the sharing above applies to your mobile phone number or text message consent. We do not share text message opt-in data or consent with any third parties, other than the service providers that deliver our messages.
Sensitive information
Please do not send Social Security numbers, bank account numbers, tax returns or other sensitive documents through this website, by text or by regular email. If you become a client, we will give you a secure way to share them.
Client information
Information about our clients is confidential under our professional standards and the law, including federal rules on the disclosure of tax return information. The terms of your engagement letter also apply.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry information for as long as we need it for the purposes above, including legal, tax and professional record keeping. We do not keep assistant conversations.
Security
The site is served only over an encrypted connection, and we use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for access to, correction of or deletion of your personal information, or to opt out of certain uses. Contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity, and we may keep some information where the law or our professional standards require it. To stop texts, reply STOP. To stop marketing emails, use the unsubscribe link in the email.
Children
This site is for adults and businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Other websites
This site links to other services, such as Cal.com for booking. Their own privacy policies apply when you use them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we will post the new version here with a new effective date.
